Body arts
There are no prerequisites for Aikido – no age limits, size requirements or specific fitness levels. By training, you’ll improve your fitness, flexibility, and coordination, as well as develop other skills.
Weapons
We offer weapons classes each week in bokken (wooden sword) and jyo (wooden staff), with sessions for both beginners and advanced weapons practitioners.
Zazen
We run two Zazen sessions weekly – 6:30 Tuesday morning and 6:20 Friday evening. The classes are open to both experienced meditators and complete beginners alike.
Aiki kids
Want to activate your kids? Are you looking to teach them some self-defense techniques and help them build confidence and resilience? We run a world-class kids program six days a week.
Iaido
Iaido is a separate form of training, and classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday evening. Iaido can be practiced as a complement to Aikido or a standalone practice.
Misogi
Newcastle Aikido offers regular Misogi training to interested students as part of one of our Zazen classes or as standalone sessions. Get in touch for more info.
